Aparajita

Dr. Aparajita Gogoi serves as the Executive Director of Centre for Catalyzing Change, a nonprofit mobilizing women and girls to achieve gender equality.  Dr Aparajita Gogoi, is a passionate advocate and crusader for health and rights of women and young girls. Dr. Gogoi is also the National Coordinator of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood/India, an alliance of over 1800 organizations who work for women’s right to survive childbirth. The very successful whatwomenwant campaign was conceived and implemented in India under her leadership and she guides the global whatwomenwant campaign as the global co-chair. She holds a PhD (International Politics), from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

On 8th March 2011, Guardian, UK, marked International Women’s Day by selecting 100 of world’s most inspiring women, and Aparajita Gogoi was named as one of these 100 women. India Today, India’s premier magazine, featured her as an Unsung Hero in the Anniversary Issue in December 2019.
