Associate Director, Grand Challenges Canada



Carolina is the Associate Director at Grand Challenges Canada (GCC). She currently oversees several portfolios including the MNCH, medical products and digital technologies portfolios and provides strategic oversight to GCC’s flagship portfolio, Stars in Global Health. Prior to GCC, she worked at the Clinton Health Access Initiative where she focused on sustainable and equitable access to new medical products to address multi-drug resistant TB in several countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. She also worked in scaling up HIV counseling and testing services in Zambia and has conducted research in areas of HIV, MNCH, tobacco policies and MDR-TB.

Carolina completed her physiotherapy training at McGill University and worked in neurological rehabilitation prior to attaining her MPH from Simon Fraser University.
