Dr. Deborah Bujnowski is the Evaluation and Science Manager at Harris County Public Health in Houston, TX. She has extensive experience in academia, research, and public health practice, and in addition to presenting her work at national scientific conferences, has authored and co-authored manuscripts on dietary factors related to obesity, hypertension, and serum lipids as well as textbook chapters on cultural competency for nutrition professionals. Her research interests include nutritional and cardiovascular epidemiology, obesity prevention, body weight perception among adolescents, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Dr. Bujnowski is a recipient of Tulane University’s Population Research Award in Epidemiology and of USDA funding for her research examining correlates of obesity in mothers and their children. She has also served as an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Nutrition. Most recently, she has worked extensively on COVID-19 response and served as site principal investigator for Harris County Public Health’s COVID-19 Seroprevalence Project.
