Kondwani

Dr Kondwani Kawaza is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health, at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHEs). Trained in Malawi and South Africa, he is currently a Consultant Pediatrician and Neonatologist at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi.

Dr Kawaza has been involved in the planning and implementation of local and international health projects and programs, with a special focus on newborn care, especially in the implementation of low-cost care innovations for low-resource settings. He was the Clinical Lead in the ground-breaking bubble CPAP work in Malawi, which has seen bubble CPAP treatment rolled out to all district hospitals and selected mission hospitals in Malawi.

Dr Kawaza currently serves on the international leadership team for the NEST 360 Program, an alliance of multi-disciplinary health experts from 16 leading institutions and governments, which collaborates with governments to strengthen health systems with innovative technology, education, and policy resources.
