About

Lori

Dr Lori McDougall is Coordinator of PMNCH (The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health), hosted by the World Health Organization, with  1,250 member organizations across 10 constituency groups. Lori is a global health policy and advocacy expert, with extensive experience in developing global, regional and national multi-stakeholder-based campaigns, including the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP); the UN Secretary General's Every Woman Every Child campaign; and Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development. A former journalist, Lori spent seven years with the BBC World Service Trust, where she set up TV/radio and community-level media campaigns in India, Cambodia and Nepal to foster pro-health social and behavioural changes.  Her PhD dissertation (LSHTM, 2020) draws on her communications and coalition-building experience to examine how global health advocacy networks contributed to political attention for maternal and child health in the MDG era.
