Mexican pediatrician and doctor in public health professional with over 20 years’ experience in the design and implementation of innovation in the areas of vaccinology, maternal and child health, epidemiological surveillance, and public health emergencies, nationally and internationally. The focus of his work has always been the improvement of health conditions with emphasis in disadvantaged and vulnerable populations.
Dr. Betancourt-Cravioto has served in high level positions in the Federal Ministry of Health of Mexico and in the social sector, where he coordinated for over a decade, the international projects, and alliances in health of the Carlos Slim Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the World.
He has authored scientific papers in peer reviewed journals on topics such as vaccines and public health emergencies, and has lectured in graduate and postgraduate studies.
He is currently an international consultant of the Pan American Health Organization.
